The Pooler Lions Club held their 4th Annual “Chipping for Charity” Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Crosswinds Golf Club. The proceeds from the tournament will fund the Pooler Lions Club Charity Fund and support their work helping the blind and visually impaired. Thanks to all our golfers who enjoyed this beautiful sunny day for the 18-hole shotgun scramble that began at 9am; followed by a delicious lunch, awards ceremony, and raffle prizes donated by local businesses. Unfortunately, no one won the hole-in-one challenge for ice cream for a year donated by The Ice Cream Stop. Dixon Golf gave golfers a free golf ball and a chance to win a sleeve of balls for hitting the green.
Golf Chairman, Dennis McCann stated, “In this, the Pooler Lions Club’s 4th Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Tournament, and our major annual fund-raising event, we had our best tournament yet. We have made steady progress toward growing and making this an even more successful event each year for the golfers, sponsors, and the Pooler Lions Club. This year we had a field of 68 golfers, over 40 paid sponsors, and many contributing sponsors, who generously contributed to the overall success of this tournament. With this in mind, we have already identified the date for the Pooler Lions Club’s 5th Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Tournament, which will be held on Saturday, May 9th, 2020 at the Crosswinds Golf Club. So if you are looking for a great time, while also supporting the numerous community outreach efforts of the Pooler Lions Club, save the date, mark your calendars now, and join us next year.”
