The Pooler Lions Club is pleased to recognize Dr. Judith Piros of Georgia Eye Institute as one of the Pooler Lions Club Businesses of the Month for December 2022. She has been an ongoing supporter of our Chipping for Charity annual golf fundraiser as a Birdie Sponsor, and we thank her and Georgia Eye Institute for their generous support!
Dr. Piros is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist who has been practicing in Savannah since 1991. She is part of the team of surgeons at Georgia Eye Institute and specializes in cataract and anterior segment surgery, glaucoma surgery, and surgical diseases of the eye. Their goal is to help each patient enjoy a lifetime of the best possible vision. Their commitment to leading edge technology and advanced surgical techniques is surpassed only by their dedication to providing their patients the personal quality medical care they expect and deserve.
Dr. Piros is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, and Georgia Medical Society. She is also involved with the Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision.
She is proud of the sight-giving impact made by her and Dr. William Degenhart. They traveled to the Dominican Republic in 2019, 2020 and 2022 and performed 93 cataract surgeries during their last two week visit. The state-of-the-art equipment that they brought was then donated to the Dominican Republic and is being used in the new hospital location.
