Project Updates and Opportunities:

Juneteenth Festival At Tanger Mall – We set up a Pooler Lions Club display and talked with many people about our service projects, handed out gifts, information and water bottles labeled with our club name.

Haircuts with Ellie – New Lion Ellie Morgan, a licensed hairdresser, will be giving free haircuts to the clients at the Loaves and Fishes Flood Pantry on the fourth Saturday of each month.

A Place to Dream – On June 25th 40 beds were delivered to children who had none.

Sitting and Knitting made 28 blankets for the delivery. The next bed delivery will be in September and Lions are encouraged to volunteer. See Herb Hubbard for details.

International Youth Exchange – Sandra Lewis will chair the July 14th dinner at Carey Hilliard’s, 5350 GA Hwy 21 in Garden City, beginning at 5:30pm. The exchange visitors will be guests of the club, but Lions are asked to RSVP Sandra Lewis at lewiss1952@yahoo.com or 912-695-6380 by July 9th. The cost is $27 for adults and $19 for children age10 and under. Please let Sandra know if you would be able to come at 4:30pm to help decorate prior to the dinner.

Leo Club – Chairman Kevin Holness reported that the committee would be meeting soon to revise the timeline and continue working on the formation of the club.

Tail Twister – Karen Nierle, assisted by her granddaughters, awarded some of the club members with humorous gifts. Sandra Lewis won the raffle but did not select the joker from the remaining playing cards, so she went home with the consolation prize. Several Lions shared their Happy Dollar news with the group. Adjournment:

The meeting was adjourned at 8:25pm.

Respectfully submitted, Rosemary Cutuli, for Secretary Barbara Scantlebury
