On April 20th the club participated in the YMCA community Yard Sale. All of the items we offered for sale were donated by club members or members of the Pooler community. 100% of the proceeds went to support the club’s charity projects Including:
Sittin’ & Knittin’- A Program that provides knitted:
- Blankets for A Place to Dream, a signature program of the YMCA, which is an organization that provides beds and linens for children who do not have their own beds.
- Hats and scarves for Old Savannah City Mission for their clients.
- Blankets for the children at the Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital.
- Hats, scarves and blankets for Safe Shelter, a place for victims of domestic violence.
- Hats for chemo patients for Touching Hands Cancer Outreach in Effingham.
Lions Closet – The club provides the opportunity for qualified participants to shop, with adult guidance, for clothing that is appropriate for job interviews and other events where casual attire is not recommended. Our goal is to help participants achieve their ultimate goal of personal independence.
