The Pooler Lions Club helped deliver and install 40 beds for children in our community who are less fortunate. A Place to Dream is a blessing to many families (mostly single moms) who are trying to get back on their feet but don’t have the means to supply beds for each child. Many times, the kids sleep with Mom, on the couch or even the floor. A Place to Dream works with the Housing Authority to identify and qualify the families who receive these beds. As volunteers we get to go into the homes, meet the families and install new twin beds for each child.
We delivered 40 beds! That’s 40 kids who have a soft bed to sleep on that did not have one the night before.
The kids are also given books, soft hand knit blankets by Lions Club members and stuffed animals to welcome them to their new bed. I love this service project and I am so proud to be a part of it! All because of Pooler Lions Club!”
