About
Pooler Lions Club
The current Pooler Lions Club was chartered in May of 2011 as a non-profit service organization.
Our History
Dr. Peter Ghaleb was elected to serve as the first Pooler Lions Club President in 2011. The other officers were Elizabeth New – Vice President, Rosemary Cutuli – Secretary, Kim Griffin – Treasurer, Jerry Bogus – Membership Chairman, and Steve Shealy – Tail Twister.
We welcome volunteers and new members and are always looking for different ways to serve our community. If you desire further information please email us at lionsclub2@gmail.com or attend one of our Meet & Greets at Lovezzola’s Restaurant 320 E. Hwy 80 on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Dinner begins at 6:00PM and the meeting starts at 6:30PM. Please join us!
Who We Are
Lions are part of a distinguished service history, dedicated to serving the blind and the vision impaired. At a 1925 convention Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become her “Knights for the Blind”, as crusaders against blindness. By conducting vision screenings to detect eye problems and providing glasses, Lions can change the future for many people.
What We Do
Lions Clubs also help bring communities together. We work closely with the city, police, schools, the Chamber of Commerce, churches and nursing homes to plan together how Lions can help the residents in our area.
